Landslide at Pelaga Ecopark Glamping in Bali, German Tourist Not Yet Found

Badung, Bali Daily – Two victims of a landslide in the Pelaga Ecopark tourist area, Petang District, Badung Regency, Bali, have not yet been found. The two are tourists who were staying at Glamping Pelaga Ecopark. One of the victims is a German citizen named Sascha Erich Schubert.

“As for the identities of the victims, based on information from the Petang Police Chief, they are Bangkit Khoirul Mubarok, an Indonesian citizen, and Sascha Erich Schubert, a foreign national from Germany,” said the Head of Basarnas Denpasar, I Nyoman Sidakarya, on Tuesday (03/11/2026).

Sidakarya explained that the incident occurred on Sunday night (01/11/2026), as a result of heavy rain that fell across parts of Bali. The joint SAR team’s search is being carried out manually because the road into the site is narrow.

“The search is still under way. We are still using equipment manually, because the glamping ecopark site in Plaga is narrow, so we are experiencing difficulties. The soil structure is unstable and we have to be careful. We are carrying out a sweep downstream for about 2.50 kilometres. We are using sensors and manual equipment to clear debris at the site,” he explained.

The search is still under way

According to Sidakarya, the search was carried out from Monday morning (02/11/2026) and ended at 5pm local time for evaluation. However, the second day of the search, from Tuesday morning until the afternoon, has not yet produced results.

“There are two victims in total. They are from outside Bali and were on holiday. Two rooms were hit by the landslide, one was empty and the other is the target we are searching for,” he said.

Sidakarya said the second day of the search at the Glamping Pelaga Ecopark landslide site was divided into three SRUs. The first team is at the scene, the second team is sweeping the dam area and the third team is sweeping outside the dam area.

“We are making efforts with the joint SAR team using manual equipment. We have also deployed one tracking dog for today’s search,” he concluded. (*)
